Cryoline flexible hoses have been specially designed for cryogenic applications: they enable the transfer of liquefied natural gas with minimal evaporation gases, withstand harsh environmental conditions and comply with safety and flow criteria. They combine flexibility, reliability and long service life.

The system was validated full-scale in Norway during autumn 2017: Trelleborg supplied a set of products for an LNG transfersystem without an unloading dock;

Tested on October 7, the \"universal transfer system\" successfully transferred LNG from the Coral Energy LNG carrier chartered by Skangas to the onshore terminal at the Norwegian port of Heroya. Now in full commercial operation, the \"Plug and Play\" system no longer requires any modifications to the LNG carrier. In addition, the platform can be maneuvered offshore to accommodate ships.

\n

This platform-based solution can operate as astand-alone unit, or enhance the loading and unloading capacity of a wider range of vessels.

\n

The system also provides greater flexibility, since the hoses and platform can be retracted when not in use or when weather conditions are too bad.

\n

\"Cryoline,

\n

This is a world first, enabling LNG tankers to be unloaded in port areas without the need for adequate infrastructure. Today, the only way to unload an LNG tanker is to create a very costly port infrastructure.

\n

With this solution, there' s no need to dock in ports. The flexible, floating pipe uncoils and connects to the LNG tanker.

\n

Other modules will soon be installed in the Caribbean. This opens up great prospects, as many sites are unsuitable, particularly on islands, where the development of a dedicated infrastructure would cost several hundred million euros, whereas Trelleborg's solution costs just a few tens of thousands of euros.
