Liquid-gas separator,
a necessary protection for the analyzer | Soclema

To remove liquids from the gas sample, SOCLEMA unveils its wide range of separators.

SOCLEMA offers separators that block liquids from gas flows.
In any industrial analysis system, it is essential to eliminate liquids in order to preserve the integrity of the sample and protect the analyzer.

We offer separators that are specially designed for industrial sampling with reduced purge time and minimal dead volume. Our products use two different separation technologies: the cyclone separation and the membrane separation. The choice of one or the other solution depends on your application and the composition of the gas.

The MERLIN cyclone separator is used to precondition your sample, in the event of a significant presence of liquid. The membrane separator is the ultimate protection for the analysers.

GENIE liquid/gas separators Series 100 eliminate 100% of liquids and very fine particles present in the gas stream, without removing only one of the gas-phase components. Therefore they protect gas analyzers – chromatographs, mass spectrometers, O2 analyzers, moisture analyzers – and other sampling system components by preventing liquids or contaminants from altering the functioning of sensors.

They are equipped with either a BTU membrane (Type 6) that stops most liquids including liquids with low surface tension such as liquid hydrocarbons, or a reinforced high-flow membrane (Type 7) that stops water, liquids consisting mainly of water, sulfuric acid, caustic, glycols and liquids with high surface tension.

The standard materials used for our separators are the 316 stainless steel and the fluoroelastomer (Viton type) or perfluoroelatomer seals (Kalrez type). Other materials, such as Hastelloy, Incoloy or Monel are possible upon request. We can also supply stainless steel separators with Sulfinert treatment.
