ODORANT INJECTION INTO BIOMETHANE

Injecting odorant into biomethane

SOCLEMA offers various solutions for biomethane odorization: injection probes equipped with a sprayer, probe outlet enclosures for odorant injection control, and an odorization skid.

Gases such as natural gas, oxygen and nitrogen are odorless by nature, but potentially dangerous . To detect possible leaks and avoid the risk of explosion, gas is odorized. These gases are odorized with a substance that gives off a strong, unpleasant odor, such as T.H.T (tetrahydrothiophene) or T.B.M (tertiary-butyl mercaptan).

This process is very important. The gas odorization system must therefore operate reliably and precisely. To inject the right amount of odorant at all times, it's important to dose it precisely according to the volume of gas to be treated.
