GRTgaz's Centre de Recherche et d'Innovation - RICE - has fully qualified a dew point analyzer from ZEGAZ INSTRUMENTS in their laboratory.
The qualified analyzer is a portable water and hydrocarbon dew point analyzer called DewPort. Following this qualification, RICE acquired a similar analyzer.
An innovative center for R&D and operational expertise integrated within GRTgaz, RICE collaborates with laboratories, public bodies and industrial groups to consolidate its scientific excellence. Created in 2018, it is mainly dedicated to the optimization and transformation of gas infrastructures and is organized around 4 poles: gas analysis and metering, pipelines (integrity activities of metallic and non-metallic networks), industrial performance and safety, and innovation and valorization.
The Dewport hydrocarbon and water dew point analyzer is based on innovative, patented technology. CEIRS: Chilled-mirror Evanescant Infrared Spectroscopy.
CEIRS™ is a highly advanced technique for determining natural gas dew points. It is the combination of cooled mirror technique and evanescent wave infrared spectroscopy that enables precise and unambiguous determination of the water and hydrocarbon dew points of natural gas. This is true dew point measurement.
The system is similar to that with a manually cooled mirror, except that the refrigerant has been replaced by electronic coolers. More importantly, the eye has been replaced by an infrared sensor capable of detecting the dew point and determining whether it is water or hydrocarbon. This eliminates operator error.
CEIRS technology measures the dew point directly.
