BIOMETHANE SAMPLE TRANSFER LINES
Transferring a biomethane sample
Because tracing solutions are essential to the efficiency of your plant, SOCLEMA offers you O'BRIEN's TRACEPACK range, an efficient, cost-effective answer to the needs and constraints of biomethane sampling.
+In biomethane sampling lines, the transfer lines must enable the purified biogas sample to be transported to the analyzer without altering its representativeness. The constraints are the same as for transferring the natural gas sample to the analyzer.
If there is a risk of condensation or adsorption (this risk depends on the composition of the gas and the temperatures the line will be subjected to), the transfer line must be heated to a temperature at least 10°C above the condensation temperature. For measurements of water content and trace compounds, lines should be heated or insulated, depending on ambient conditions.
The transfer line should be as short as possible, and its diameter as small as possible to reduce transit time. As a general rule, the length of the sampling line should not exceed a few tens of meters, and its diameter should be between 3 and 6 mm (1/8 to 1/4 inch).
316L stainless steel should be used for the biomethane transfer line.
